The Tangram Line
The Inspiration

The earliest known tangram diagrams were published in 19th century. It is believed that the roots of the tangram puzzle date back to the Northern Song dynasty around the 10th century, when a set of rectangular tables was invented with a collection of diagrams showing how the tables could be arranged in a variety of configurations to seat guests at banquets. Both a creative and geometrical game, the Tangram has quickly become popular beyond the Chinese frontiers.
